What is a Subdomain?

A subdomain is a prefix to your domain - e.g. shop.yourdomain.com or blog.yourdomain.com.

Creating a Subdomain

  • Log in to cPanel
  • Go to Domains -> Subdomains
  • Enter the subdomain name (e.g. shop)
  • Select your domain
  • The document root is auto-filled (e.g. /public_html/shop)
  • Click Create

    • Upload Files

    Upload files to the document root folder (e.g. /public_html/shop).

    Install SSL

    Go to cPanel -> SSL/TLS -> Run AutoSSL to issue a certificate for your subdomain.

    External DNS

    If using external DNS, add an A record pointing subdomain to: 103.141.79.115
